Would Infoblox NIOS product be affected by the upcoming Leap second insertion on December 31, 2016?
Customers using Infoblox NIOS appliances
The processes monitoring time-of-day on Infoblox appliances are kept in synch using the industry-standard NTP protocol. A leap second
or a one-second adjustments are applied to Coordinated Universal Time or UTC to prevent drift from mean solar time (Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_second
From the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS), a leap second will be inserted into the time stream at 23:59:59, December 31, 2016. At that time for one second clocks will read 23:59:60.
Infoblox does not anticipate any service disruptions with this leap second insertion. Appliances that are synchronized with external NTP servers will be synchronized matching the new time. Appliances that are not synchronized with external NTP source may be one second behind after the insertion.
